Mav Mansell is an Illustrator, short comic artist and character creator based in Plymouth.
He is open to learning new ways of developing his artwork to better his artistic journey. He is experienced in digital making and analog art often combining the two together. His motivations for making art are usually driven by identity and individuality ranging from being part of the lgbtq+ community, mental health and life experiences.
Mav’s aspiration is to make work which will reach out to people and make life feel more bearable knowing that others can relate. Mav also likes to use his skills for activism. One of Mav’s recent short comics called Dust Bunny and Soot Boy talks about the effects of war on children which delves through magical realism and is influenced by real stories of children who have witnessed war, or are going through war. In Mav’s free time he enjoys reportage drawing in his personal sketchbook, capturing people and their everyday lives.
